Today's daily was fun enough that I wanted to share it here.

The Woodmans
I don't usually do movie posters, but when my friend Ekin Akalin asked me if I'd be interested in doing the initial poster for The Woodmans, I said yes. It's a documentary on Francesca Woodman's life that came out last year and did quite well. As someone who loves photography I'm glad I got to be a part this in some way.

Dailies, Parking Lot
Some of my friends are already quite aware that I do a quick painting/drawing/doodle everyday to keep the painting/drawing/doodle muscles in shape. It's really quick stuff for the most part, so I post them on facebook instead of here on my blog. But every now and then I get inspired and keep at it until I get a decent scene locked in my mind, like this one. Still rough, but I take it that it gets the idea across...

Winehouse
I was a fan of her beautiful voice. Joined the 27 club like Hendrix, Joplin, Dylan, Morrison & Cobain.
Moe and I decided to make Sketchclub tributes. Here's his.

.
I'm working on a cool lil thing these days and it's taking up all my free time- the free time I want to spend doodling, watching movies, reading books and sleeping. The lack of posts are inexcusable, so here's a quick doodle that was technically my "break". I'm leaving in my process, in case someone out there is curious...

R O M E
note: original logo, not designed by yours truly.
I got to work on this music video for ROME, a project by Modest Mouse & Daniele Luppi, featuring Norah Jones and Jack White. Since it's one of Chris Milk's interactive music videos, you have to click here to experience it.
Here's the case study Mirada put together, it shows some of the artwork we all put together to create the ROME worlds.
*Update: Motionographer recently did a little case study as well. If you're interested in reading, clickedy click.

A-mi-nals
Every now and then I go to the Gesture Drawing Tool to doodle a bit. I really love the animal drawing option, but the figure drawing one is pretty sweet too. What an incredible resource!
I think most of these were 30 seconds, with a few exceptions.

Sketchclub
I haven't been able to go to the Sketchclub for the past few weeks, and I finally got the chance to do so. It feels nice to be back.

Cruela
Quick sketch. I didn't intend it to be Cruela. Actually I didn't even intend it to be a drawing. I was just messing around with brushes, looking at the incredible Paul Lasaine's blog, and this just kinda happened.

Lauren M
Here's a painting of my hilarious friend Lauren. She's rad.
She found that white jacket at a thrift store, she said. I believe it, she's one of my favorite flea market companions ever (please refer to me buying crazy denim jackets).
I had to start over and over again to try to get that Lauren essence, and in my opinion I still haven't succeeded, but it's better than my first few sketches. One day, I shall make a better one!

Breakfast & Breakfast Only, Three Times A Day
I haven't had the time to post anything in a long time, because of crazy projects piling up. Some exciting things are happening, and sooner or later I shall post them as well.
Speaking of exciting, I should state that breakfast food always gets me excited. There are so many things you can call "breakfast", and I'm so into it.
This little sketch isn't new, but I had to post something. I think I painted this because I really wanted bacon and eggs, but didn't have bacon. Can't quite recall. Part of me wants to make a pattern out of this, and print it as wrapping paper, postcard, a t-shirt or something.
Enjoy!

Oldies
Going through some old folders to organize my hard drives, I came across this self portrait/sketch I did in school (sometime during 2006/7). I remember this was from a photo assignment from a different class, and I also remember color picking, haha. Can't believe it's been 4 years now! Time flies. Le sigh.
