Greetings!!
School is finally out, and I'm back in Turkey for my last official break :)
Winter is great in Istanbul, with everyone wearing their cozy coats and scarves, the street vendors who sell roasted chestnuts at every corner, and boza! It was snowing 10 mins ago, and I couldn't think of a better time than this to say "Season's Greetings", with a sketch based upon my senior thesis.
Happy Holidays, everyone!

Nathan Fowkes Color Demo
Hey everyone! This weekend, I was lucky enough to attend a color workshop at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art taught by the amazing Nathan Fowkes. He was very clear and concise, taught very useful information, and was nice enough to let us photograph the demo.
So as I promised, I'm posting the process shots. Unfortunately the image quality is not super high, but these were the better ones I got.
It's also ironic, that this is a color workshop, and there's no way the colors would ever come out the same in the photos (and everyone's screens).
It was great meeting everyone at the workshop! Hope everyone enjoyed it like I did.
PS: For those who are confused, the images go from top to bottom, starting from the left hand side.
Here's what I got to do there. The color keys were quite fun, and so were the quick portraits. The colors are off on the screen (duh), but as you can see, I had a lot of fun.

The Blue Jay And The Peacock
Hi everyone! I thought I'd add more work to support that lonely peacock illustration I posted a while ago... These were done weeks ago, and I barely found the time (more like, made time) to clean them up for you.
Here are some quick sketches for the characters, and a drawing of the "Peacock Residence".
I hate posting with watermarks, but since the new "Orphan Works Legislation" has passed, all artists need to be super careful with their public work. Thank you new legislation, for making our lives harder by releasing our rights to our own works.
All in all, this was a quick design breakdown for a short story. Please enjoy!!

Jorinda & Joringel
Holla! I know I've been slacking on the posting duty, but I haven't been lazy. In fact I find myself running from one thing to another and not having a moment to catch up with life...
Here are a few sketches for drawing the fantastic with Bill. We were asked to take the story "Jorinda & Joringel" and turn the characters into animals. Here are some character and environment exploration sketches...

Senior Year. Get Set. Go!
Hi everyone!!
So "senior year" started two weeks ago. I'm super excited about what is to come, and to see what my fellow classmates are going to come up with.
My schedule is already getting busy, with thesis work and everything else, but I'm going to try to keep the blog updated.
Here's a quick sketch of one of the peacocks from the fable where the blue jay wants to become one of them and fails.. fun.

Experiments
Hey everyone! Originally I attended my good friend Dylan to the duty of reminding me to post twice a week, but he's blowin it. Therefore, I had to take charge once again.
I felt like messing with the inks once again. These sketches are both 5-10mins, and the bottom bottom one has a 5-min-photoshop-touch-up.
Oh, and guess what business I considered getting into before I became a concept artist.
I acutally hate posting "pics", so I promise actual scans next time :)
Enjoy!

It's been a long, long time...
Hey everyone! Sorry for abandoning ship - temporarily. I haven't been posting at all, which is lame (i kno, i kno).
Getting back in the posting game, here is a quick study I did when I found a little bit of time on my hands the other day. It's a temporary sketch of a villain-esse for my friend's comic book. I was supposed to design another character (werkin on it!), but this one just.. uhm.. happened.
Hope you likes it.

More workk!
I'm starting to define my characters some more, for my HAG concept. Here's also a bonus of a value study. Yes that is a capybara. Yes, he's having pina coladas with friends at the beach.
